Good TV coverage. Shame it was only 30min.
Ning giving Willis a go over the last 400m was brilliant.

And what happened to the presence of Nikki Hamblin and Fiona Crombie after this December Media Release:

Yeh, I agree. Palmer rounding off nicely for national 3K in two weeks. Thought Buscomb might have been a bit closer.
Would also have liked to have seen Jacko with the senior shot. He and Val would have been within centimeters of each other.
The best performance though was Rebecca Wardell in the shot...that 15:08 is a world class throw for a Heptathlete.

A quick look at results and these are my picks for good ones:

W3000m: Pretty solid times for these girls on the grass
1 Kellie Palmer SR CANU 9:32.35
2 Hannah Newbould SR CANU 9:34.97
3 Lydia O'Donnell WBP 9:36.7

M800m: Good solid win again!
1 Brad Mathas MWA 1:52.7

M3200m Handicap: Looks like an exciting finish although no handicaps listed in results so hard to tell how it was raced.
1 Will Leer USA 9:16.71
2 Nick Willis NEW ZEALAND 9:17.90
3 Andrew Davidson SR CANU 9:18.13
And two easy wins for Jacko Gill in the discus and shot.

Take another look at the entries for those events... It's not that bad, they have fronted with what 7-8k spread over 10 events. Don't see anyone else stepping up to run a meet like this.

Any fellow spectators wanting to do a threshold/tempo workout Saturday morning let me know. I'll be in Hagley Park doing something.

Athletes starting to arrive today, track looks fantastic, luncheon tomorrow followed by auction and press conference, big article in The Press this morning and a buzz around town about the event... It's not too late - get to Christchurch if you can - it will be amazing!

Or Peter Snell's old seat at Lancaster Park.....

Less than 30 tickets left at the most unique track & field function you'll experience this year. Sumptuous 3-course meal, video presentation by Sir Peter Snell, panel discussion with stars of the past and present from Bruce Tulloh and Barry Magee to Nick Willis & Adrian Blincoe, and a charity auction of what may well be the finest array of track and field memorabilia ever assembled in NZ.
From 12.30pm Friday 3rd Feb at the Christchurch Casino - http://internationaltrackmeet.co.nz/ITM/sponsorsmeet-sponsors/corporate-hosting
