Sydney Track Classic

I enjoyed watching on my Apple via live streaming the Sydney Track Classic and was impressed with several performances.  Thank You Big Pond for live streaming this important event!!!!

Sally Pearson is the genuine article, so focused and sure of herself without being arrogant and self serving.  On tthe other hand the 400 metre winner J Steffenson, while I don't know much about him, I can see why he and the public have a love/hate affair with each other.  He did not bother to congratulate anyone after the race, including the wonderful 800 mt world champ Rudisha, but instead did some silly dance then proceeded to make self serving statements without thinking or thanking any one else. O note that the audiences lack of congratulations after his interview.  Indeed the stand was silent.  Does anyone know this athlete. Is he as selfish and self serving in reality as he appears when interviewed on "TV"?

Surely Hamish Carson is due for a break through run.  I appreciate he went for it and while he faded, still came out with a respectable time.  But I am waiting for that breakthough race/win this season that he is more than capable of and more than deserves.

A great night for Kiwi athletes.  Lets see some more talent competing.

I note the complete lack of comment of this event so am starting my own one!

I should clarify about Carson. He has already had a breakthrough in the mile this year with his with his wonderful sub 4. What I meant was in the Olympic distance of 1500mts.

I quite like Steffensen. Warmed up at the same time as him once and he just wandered around singing at the top of his voice with his headphones on - not giving a flying **** what anybody thought of him. Whether his intentions are good or bad, he has certainly gotten the public interested. In an olympic year that certainly isn't a bad thing for a below-radar sport.
